Peacehaven & Telscombe Housing Association was formed in 1967 by a group of local residents. We provide sheltered housing for retired people at Dorothy House in Peacehaven. We promote independent living with the support of our caring staff. We are a charitable organisation registered with the Homes and Communities agency, National Housing Federation and Financial Conduct Authority. Our organisation is overseen by a dedicated voluntary Management Committee who involves themselves in all aspects of Dorothy House.
Our units are let on an Assured Tenancy Agreement and the affordable rent includes central heating, hot water, light, council tax and a daily home cooked lunch time meal. Our units are unfurnished and our facilities include a communal lounge, dining room, sun lounge and laundry. We also have a lift which serves three floors, a large car park and beautiful gardens.
Our residents live independent lives within a warm and caring environment. Care Plans are tailored to resident’s individual needs and aspirations. We actively encourage our residents to take part in our activities and benefit from the companionship within Dorothy House.
Our staff are on site during the day and then Carelink Control Centre take over during out of hours periods. In the event of an emergency or a resident needing help our own local staff are ready to respond.
Dorothy House was originally owned by the Late Dame Gracie Fields and is full of history and character. Situated in a quiet residential area Dorothy House is within walking distance of the Meridian Shopping Centre, Post Office and Community Hall. Buses for Brighton and Newhaven leave from the Meridian Centre and Eastbourne from the South Coast Road.

Complaints
We are committed to providing the highest quality of service. If a complaint is made about a decision or action of the Association, the following complaints procedure will be followed:
The person making the complaint will be requested to make the complaint to the General Manager. The General Manager will investigate the matter and the findings will be recorded. The General Manager will respond to the complaint in writing in the appropriate manner. The matter will be reported to the Management Committee.
If the matter is not resolved the complaint will be referred to the Management Committee. A member of the Management Committee will investigate the matter and record their findings. The result of the investigation will be reported to the Management Committee and the General Manager on behalf of the Management Committee will respond in writing.
If the complaint is not resolved the person making the complaint will be advised to discuss the matter with their local Councillor, Citizens Advise Bureau, Housing Ombudsman. Service.
All complaints will be recorded and made available for inspection on request.

Annual Complaints Performance & Service Improvement 2024/25
During 2024/25 Peacehaven &Telscombe Housing Association received one complaint, which was dealt with following the Peacehaven & Telscombe Housing Association’s Complaints Procedure.
Any future complaints would be dealt with following the Complaints Procedure. Peacehaven & Telscombe Housing Association Ltd are satisfied that the Complaints process is accessible and that there are no barriers to complaints being raised.
